Kidney Stones
Kidney stones are not something you commonly see happening to a 16 year old girl. But, last year..i was that girl. I was woken up at about 3:00am with a pain I had never felt before. In all of my 16 years of life I had never screamed so loud because of pain. I was rushed the ER (keep in mind, I had never been to the hospital before. Ever) Doctors realized I had a 2.2 millimeter stone. They admitted me into the hospital thinking it would pass. About a week later and a couple more CAT scans, they discovered the stone was stuck. I was scheduled for surgery the next day. I never thought anything like that would ever happen to me...LET ALONE TWICE. Guess what happened this year on the same exact day..Yup, you guessed it. Another stone. But bigger this time. Also, there was more than just screaming this time because of pain. Lets just say I puked twice out the car window on my way to the hospital. I was told I was going to have to have another surgery and the doctors were all surprised that I was there with a stone December 20th of last year as well. Its crazy how things work in this world. But now I have quite the story to tell! Fingers crossed its not an annual thing.
